Lectureship in German

LECTURER IN GERMAN (with special responsibility for the BComm International (German) programme) Department of German School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences Specified Purpose Whole-Time Post (anticipated duration of 10 months) UCC invites applications for the position of Lecturer in German (with special responsibility for the BComm International (German) programme). The successful candidate will have a postgrad degree in German Studies, and native or near-native competence in both the German and English language. Preferred areas of expertise include German business and culture, intercultural and digital communication, intercultural exchange. Applicants with academic expertise and a proven track record of research and teaching in areas linking German cultural studies and Applied business studies will be especially welcome. The successful candidate will participate as appropriate in the normal administrative work of the Department and the School. It is expected that the successful candidate will take over the coordination of the German section of the BComm International (German) programme. Appointment will be made on the Lecturer Below the Bar Salary Scale, €32,821 – €57,967 (Scale B); €34,625-€55,159 (Scale A). In all instances the successful appointment will be at the first point of the scale.
