Position: HR Development Manager 

 

Contract: Full Time Permanent

 

Reporting To: General Manager 

 

Location: High Street – Dublin 8

 

Remuneration: 

 

€57,513 - €64,154 depending on experience

Defined Contribution Occupational Pension

Employee contributes 6.5% with an optional 2%

Employer contributes 7% and will match optional 2%

 

 

Health Service Staffs Credit Union Limited (HSSCU) continues to grow and develop accross our nationwide common bond. Our Credit Union now employs in excess of 60 staff in its various offices in Dublin, Cork and Galway

 

To strengthen our senior management team we now require a dedicated HR Development (HRD) Manager. This position will take direct responsibility for improving individual, team and organisational effectiveness and performance, and for developing knowledge, skills and competencies in both operational and governance functions.

 

The HRD Manager shall take responsibility for managing all aspects of the employment and volunteer relationship in the credit union. The role will have direct responsibility for recruitment, staffing, retention, performance, line management, development, organisation culture, succession planning, adjustment and managing change.

 

Some of the primary responsibilities will include:

 

Develop, review, implement and monitor HR strategy aligned to the HSSCU strategic plan

Identifying the skills, knowledge and abilities needed to achieve the credit union’s strategic objectives

Develop, review, implement and monitor HR policies and HSSCU Staff Handbook

Enhancing management skills throughout the credit union to effectively facilitate and manage change

Assisting line managers to develop, understand and implement effective management practices

Developing Effective and Consistent Line Management practices

Develop effective succession planning, talent management and key person risk mitigation

Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances and other issues

Dealing with grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures, supporting line managers to enable them to effectively manage such matters directly

Supporting the Governance Role in relation to HR strategy, remuneration practices, targeted learning and development and succession planning

Managing performance management, succession planning and learning and development requirements for the board of directors, committees and other volunteer roles within the credit union

Manage the recruitment, selection and induction process

Ensure accurate and compliant personnel records and HR administration

Oversee and manage the performance appraisal system

Aligning performance management behaviour and practices throughout all office

Assess training needs and monitor individual and organisation training plans

Manage the developing workplace culture for a growing  HSSCU

Directly Contributing to Effective Risk Management and HR Compliance

Qualifications & Relevant Experience

 

 

 

Education to degree level with a professional qualification in HR Management, Law or other relevant qualification

Significant experience of delivering a HR service with a degree of autonomy

Experience in developing, reviewing, implementing and monitoring HR Policies, procedures and best practice

Thorough understanding of employment law and its practical application in the workplace

Experience in managing complex individual grievances and disciplinary matters

Proven ability to influence and negotiate particularly in a change management setting

Proven ability to mentor, coach, and provide training (one to one, or in groups) as required

Computer literate with the ability to undertake administrative tasks and create resources electronically
